THE MISSION:

As the sole aircraft maintenance technician school north of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Legacy Aviation Learning Center in Traverse City is poised to develop a workforce that’s confident, capable, and ready for takeoff.

Our partnership with Northwest Education Services (North Ed) Career Tech, a career and technical educational school that serves over 20 high schools in the region, will introduce students to the opportunities available. As a regional leader in trades training, North Ed equips students with opportunities for postsecondary placement or higher education. Our engagement in their Aviation Maintenance Program will provide approximately 50 students in grades 11 and 12 with the general prerequisite modules of the airframe and powerplant (A&P) certification as AMTs.

SOAR

THE VISION:

Equipped with the expertise, the space, and the support ecosystem to soar, Legacy Aviation Learning Center enrolled its first cohort of students in January 2024. Condensing the curriculum into 12 months, Legacy Aviation is positioned to offer a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum for $38,500 per student, which is on par with other AMT schools. This timeline sets us apart as an educational institution, as only one other AMT school in Michigan offers a pathway to graduation in 12-16 months.

Our accelerated program timeline removes the burden of long-term debt and propels skilled technicians into available opportunities. Legacy Aviation will accommodate 50 students per year in the program.
